The Division evaluates specific development plans for conformance to the adopted Comprehensive Plan and provides technical advice to the Planning and Zoning Commission and City Council on planning issues.

The Planning & Zoning Services Division is also responsible for administering the Zoning Code, Sign Code, Manufactured Home Park and R.V. Park Code, Shelters Code, and portions of the Subdivision Code  (Lewiston City Code Chapters 37, 30, 23, 42 & 32, respectively) of the City by providing related code information to the public, reviewing permit applications for related code compliance, processing and evaluating land use applications for comprehensive plan amendments, zone changes, variances, conditional use permits, and planned unit developments and provides related recommendations to the Planning and Zoning Commission and City Council.
