  2. Six Pack S.T.E.M. Week

    REGISTRATION REQUIRED: Registration will open on July 5th and includes all 6 days! Intended for ages 11 - 13. Six Pack S.T.E.M. Week is a six-day STEM program introducing kids to the fundamentals of technology and computer science. For one hour each day, students will take a journey through the STEM concepts and structures associated with computers and computer use in our everyday lives. Participants will learn the basics of code through Braille and Morse code, observe how electricity works and its role in binary code, build their own circuits and telegraph machines, identify the guts of a computer, and design their own computer algorithms. They will also be introduced to associated STEM jobs and career paths, with a focus on those available in our local community.

  4. Teen/Tween Mindfulness Guided Study

    July 31, 2021, 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM @ Library Event Space

    REGISTRATION REQUIRED: Registration will open on June 1. Intended for ages 11 - 18. The world is stressful, but there are healthy ways to cope. Come learn about stress management through mindfulness! In this class, we will explore the benefits of mindfulness through basic yoga movement, practice breathing techniques, and learn how meditation and journaling can help. All participants will receive the book The Mindfulness Journal for Teens: Prompts and Practices to Help You Stay Cool, Calm, and Present by Jennie Marie Battistin, MA, LMFT.
